Swarnim School is an English medium co-educational school established in 1981 (2037 B.S.). It is situated at its own building at Dallu Residential Area in Kathmandu. It provides comprehensive qualitative education to children from Nursery to Ten by its highly qualified, experienced, trained and dedicated teaching staff. This school - established with the aim of providing intellectual, mental, physical and cultural development in children - gives more emphasis to life-centered, practical or useful and learning-oriented education rather than examination based education to inculcate discipline and build noble character of students. Apart from this, we aim to develop students' sense of devotion and loyalty to the nation enhancing their better reading, judgement and explanation of life and world in a scientific approach by nurturing scientific attitude in them. Besides learning and teaching, this school has arranged appropriate stuffs in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. We are always guided by the direction, "Education has to agree to entire human values and ethics." in support of this school's all time motto "Education for humanity!"

Swarnim School was formally established in 1981 with the goal of educating the youth, the future of our nation. It was established in Bhurungkhel with around fifty students and five teachers. Despite the humble beginning, the school strives to ensure quality education for its students. The school gradually gained popularity and more students and ultimately, it expanded to Tamsipakha, Naradevi. Which, though, still wasn't able to support the school's drastic and much welcomed growth and thus, the school chose to reinvigorate itself at Dallu Residential Area with its own buildings and establishment in 2004.The school's first ever role in then SLC (school Leaving Certificate) examinations came in 1996, almost one and half decade after its establishment and still managed to have a student in the top ten board rankings. Now, the school's 23rd batch is going to venture forth for their SEE (Secondary Education Examination which replaces SLC). For mental and healthy entertainment of children, a series of children song albums have been produced and released by this school. 1st volume of children's song was released in 2042 (1985 A.D.), in fact the first children's song album in Nepal. 2nd volume of children’s song was released in 2046 (1989 A.D.) and 3rd volume of children’s song was released in 2050 (1993 A.D.).The school has prospered over the years, currently enjoying over a thousand students and a team of more than seventy teaching and non-teaching staff. However and regardless of its current golden era or its past desolate era, the school has had only one true aim: that is to educate the masses and to ensure that the students develop their intellectual, emotional and even physical faculties and prevail to become a relevant person in the future. The school has always remained true to its roots and its motto "Education For Humanity".

We, at Swarnim School, are a strong and united team with goal of providing quality education and support to our students with the aim of ensuring their growth at maximum potential. We are a team of teachers, administration and logistic assistants. Though our desk labels might sound and spell differently, we are all equal and are equally slaving away for our students.With all of this said, every organization needs a figurehead/s and our figureheads coming in the form of our five board members : Ramesh Shrestha (Board Chairman), Sahaji Pant (Principal), Dilli Ram Mainali  (Vice- principal), Bhagwan Shrestha ( Executive Financial Officer), and Swasti Prabha Bajracharya (Board Member). We guarantee that our school shall provide its students with the best possible education while utilizing our maximum capabilities and faculties for their potential to be brought into reality. We shall always strive to fulfill our motto “Education For Humanity".

The school conducts different language based, computer based and science based co-curricular activities and sport, arts and much based extra-curricular activities as stated in the school calendar.

A. Language (English and Nepali) based co-curricular activities:

a. Essay, Poetry and Story writing competition

Students of all the levels are encouraged to write essays in the given topics. However the students have to choose their own topics and write their poems and stories in poetry and story writing competitions.

The objectives of these competitions are:

1. To develop writing skills
2. To develop the habit of reading books of language and literature
3. To develop the art of writing
4. To develop the feelings of fair competition
5. To encourage the students to take part in such competitions in their own initiation
6. To make the students realize their hidden talent and bring out their creativity in writing
7. To encourage the students create their poems and recite in front of the mass so that they develop their confidence of presentation
8. To develop the comprehension of language through writing

b. Elocution contest

‘Elocution’ is the art of speech. Both the students of English and Nepali subjects have to present their speech in the respective language in the titles provided.

The objectives of elocution contest:

1. To develop the art of speech in the language
2. To develop confidence in students so that they can influence the mass
3. To develop interactive skills to sharpen their interest in speaking so that they do not hesitate to express their feelings, opinions, reservations and misunderstandings to others
4. To help the students use logic in their speech

c. Spelling contest

This is the vocabulary test of the students. The contestants from each house are asked about the spelling of the words, meanings for the words or they may have to unjumble the letters for meaningful words.

The objectives of this contest are:

1. To improve vocabulary power of the students
2. To enable the students to use words/phrases/idioms in meaningful sentences
3. To make the students use appropriate words in their writings
4. For the improvement of students’ language

d. Wall Magazines

Wall Magazines are the magazines prepared by the students of lower secondary and secondary levels in their self-initiation and interest to be pasted on the respective magazine boards of each section.

The objectives of ‘Wall Magazines’ are:

1. To make the students read newspapers, magazines, books, comics, and books on general knowledge, current affairs or any other field of knowledge so that they can create readable articles for the magazines
2. To develop the general understandings of national and international affairs
3. To make the students choose any topics of their interest and write any articles they like for the magazines
4. To develop a sense of participation, co-operation and competition to bring out quality magazines
5. To make all the sections prepare magazines so that all the students get the opportunity of reading the articles of all the magazines to broaden their horizon of knowledge
6. To develop the interest in art and literature

B. Computer based co-curricular activities

The computer based activities involve the students to take part in typing skills, web page designing, programming etc. so that students develop the necessary computer based skills.

The objectives of computer based activities:

1. To develop the students’ typing skills
2. To enable the students to use their creativity by making them design their web pages and creating their own programmer
3. To help the students to bring computer in their practical life
4. To make them habituated in the field of modern science and information technology

C. Science based co-curricular activities

Science Exhibition

In science exhibitions all the students from class 6 to 10 design any work related to science such as drawings, charts, inventions etc. and exhibit them on the scheduled date of Science Exhibition.

The objectives of the exhibition are:

1. To make the students realize their talent
2. To make the students aware of science and technology
3. To make the students choose their own proposals and create them
4. To help the students in their course of study of science
5. To explore the mysteries hidden behind science

D. Sports bases extra-curricular activities

The school observes sports based tournaments/activities in school. Inter house basketball tournament, Inter house table tennis tournament and chess championship are some major sports events.

The objectives of the sports activities:

1. To make the students fit and healthy
2. To make the students competent in sports
3. To build up a feeling of sportsmanship in games
4. To enhance leadership, personality, alertness and creativity

E. Dance, Music and Arts

There are regular dance, music and arts class for the students of primary and pre-primary levels. The interested students of the senior levels can take regular dance, music or arts classes.

The objectives of these classes are:

1. To make the students realize their hidden talent
2. To help students make music, dance or arts their vocation and career in their future life
3. To make them feel the depth and dimension of these passions and explore their talent.

This is to notify that the School Management Committee has approved and accepted the following rules and regulations.

Admission Rules A. Students willing to enroll themselves in this school must fill up the form given by this school by paying the necessary amount as per the school rules. They must fill up the form in a legible handwriting including name, surname (Thar), full address and date of birth in B.S. and A.D. B. Students seeking admission in this school other than in Nursery must go through written and oral tests. Successful students in these tests must register their names by paying the required fees as per the school rules. C. Particularly, parents/guardians seeking enrollment of their children in Nursery must bring their children with them at the time of admission. D. Students enrolling themselves in this school other than in the pre-primary level must submit the Progress Report Card and the Transfer Certificate obtained from their previous school. E. Students admitting themselves in this school must not be deaf, mentally retarded, and infected by other contagious diseases. Besides, they must be able to speak clearly. F. Children admitting in Nursery at this school must have completed their three years.

School Fees A. Pupils of this school have to pay fees in three kinds: 1. Annual Fees      2. Monthly Fees      3. Exam Fees 1. Annual Fees:- The admission fees, yearly fees (sports, extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, students' welfare, maintenance, lab, library, etc. fees) and deposit amount are taken once in a year from the new and yearly fees (sports, extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, students' welfare, maintenance, lab, library, etc. fees) are taken from old studets. 2. Monthly Fees:- Pupils must pay the fixed tuition fees as per the school rules each month regularly. Apart from the tuition fees, computer fees must be paid for those classes which take computer courses. 3. Exam Fees:- Pupils must pay the mentioned fees as per the school rules for the Quarterly, Mid-term and Final Examinations.

b "   " Payment of School Fees A. Every student will get a schoolbill for the monthly tuition fees before the first day of each English month, and the parents/guardians must pay off the bill within the 20th day of the same month. B. Parents/guardians must pay the ` monthly tuition fees regularly before the 20th day of $ each English month irrespactive o& whether or not they   get the sc`kolbill. < td> C. The student who pays the monthly fees after the end of English month will be fined Rs. 25/­ D. If there are dues of the monthly   tuition"fees for mmre than one month, a fine will be charged at the rate of Rs 25 for every unpaid month. E. If the monthly tuition fees are not paid continuously for two months, names of such students can be deleted from the school register and also it may result in preventing him/her from taking regular classes. F. In case of those students whose names have already been cut off from the school register, they can register their names by clearing off all the dues and by paying an extra fine of Rs. 200. G. If any parents/guardians wish to pay the total cost of schooling at once, they can pay it to school. While paying the total cost, the annual fees, monthly tuition fees, and exam fees are payable together. Such total sums once paid will not be refunded, if any student leaves school without completing the current academic year. H. Except in the special circumstance, generally, a student has to pay the monthly tuition fees for 12 months from the initial month to the last month of the new academic year. I. The payment of the monthly tuition fees can be made from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on any schooldays. So, you are specially requested to come to pay the bill within the afore mentioned time. J. It is compulsory to bring the yellow bill while paying the monthly tuition fees.

Deposit Money The following provisions must be met to get back the deposit money from this school: A. The pupil must have completed his/her study for the running academic year. B. The student must have cleared off all the dues for the current academic year. C. The student must not have damaged expensive school belongings and properties. D. The pupil should compulsorily have taken the Transfer Certificate from this school by paying the fees as per the school rules. E. A written application must be sent to the school administration along with the 'deposit money receipt' before the end of academic session by the parent/guardian to get back the 'deposit money'. F. The 'deposit money' of the students who pass the S.L.C. Exams from this school will not be refunded. This will be spent in 'Students Welfare'. Principal's Message I welcome you to Swarnim School, where we try to provide the best education that we can. Our motto has always been "education for humanity" and that is why our school operates at nominal fees and high quality education. Our school is of humble beginning as we progressed and years passed by. However, despite the change in infrastructures, buildings, location, and even personnel our school has had one goal and goal only: "education for humanity" and that is why we have strived, we strive and will always strive to do our optimum for each and every child to go through our gates, wearing our uniform and our badge. Children are the future. This is an undeniable fact. And for these children to fulfill their maximum potential, to reach out and make informed decision and to actively participate in the day to day functioning of the world, they need knowledge of how to get there, what to do after getting there and how to remain there. Our school provides this knowledge. So, I as the principal, welcome all students and potentials students to be a part of our programme and to help us achieve our goal "Education for Humanity".
